Sixth Grade is Awesome!

Welcome to 6A

Hi! My name is Mrs. McDermott and I am the homeroom teacher for class 6A as well as the Jr. High Math and Pre-Algebra teacher. I received my B.S. in communications from SIUC and received my teaching certificate from UIS. I love learning and I love technology, almost as much as Math, so I make sure to keep up with the latest in these. Make sure to check out my new Promethean Board when you are in for a visit.
I am starting my 9th year at Little Flower School and am truely blessed to work with such a great group of teachers!

Veteran's Day

We had several students bring in pictures or share stories of family members that have served in the war. We also had a special visit on Veterans Day by Mr. and Mrs. Ozzie Langfelder. He was a WWII veteran. He also gave us a first hand account of what Germany was like during this time. It fit in perfect with Literature and our novel, Number the Stars. He donated his book to our library and gave a book to one lucky student.
